EXCLUSIVE: Indican Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to action thriller Jet Trash, with plans for a theatrical release in 10-15 cities this spring. Based on Simon Lewis’ 1999 novel Go, it’s directed by Charles Henri Belleville and stars Robert Sheehan (Fortitude, Mortal Engines), Osy Ikhile (Legend Of Tarzan, Black Mirror) and The Mummy and Atomic Blonde‘s Sofia Boutella.
The story follows Londoners Lee (Sheehan) and Sol (Ikhile) who are hiding out on a beach in Southern India, living a slacker life of sex, drugs and parties. Trouble comes to paradise when Vix (Boutella), a beautiful girl from Lee’s past, turns up. Things get worse when the gang find themselves up against crooked cops, local hoodlums, gangsters and mysticism.
The film had its world premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2016 and also features Craig Parkinson (Line Of Duty) and Jasper Paakkonen (Vikings).
Boutique indie distributor Indican’s previous releases include The Grace Of Jake, Kill Me Deadly and A Beginners Guide To Snuff.
