As news of the untimely passing of DuShon Monique Brown sank in, the cast of Chicago Fire took to Twitter to express their shock and offer support. Brown died unexpectedly Friday at the age of 49.
Brown, who played the no-nonsense assistant Connie, joined the Chicago Fire cast on a recurring basis during the show’s first season in 2012 and appeared in 54 episodes. She also appeared on Fox’s Prison Break as infirmary nurse Katie Welch and guested on Empire, Shameless, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams and Boss.
“The Chicago Fire family is devastated to lose one of its own,” executive producer Dick Wolf told the Tribune in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with DuShon’s family, and we will all miss her.”
