Viceland made a pair of executive promotions today. Catherine Whyte has been promoted to EVP & Head of Production, and Meghan Kirsch is its new SVP Marketing and Creative.
Whyte oversees all production for Viceland’s slate of originals including the late-night strips Desus & Mero and new entry The Untitled Action Bronson Show. She also is collaborated with producers on projects in various stages of development. Prior to joining Viceland, Whyte spent 11 years at MTV, overseeing production on series including The Real World and The Hills.
Kirsch has been overseeing marketing strategy for the youth-focused network both on-air and off with creative, paid and social media brand partnerships and promotions since June 2016. She also supervises Vice Labs, a team of filmmakers who create shortform programming that ranges from the network’s interstitials to brand integrations and one-off experimental shorts.
“Whether overseeing the dozens of different shows we make in-house or defining the network’s voice to the world – Catherine and Meghan are doing next level work,” Viceland president Guy Slattery said. “I look forward to working with them in their new roles as we continue to grow the audience and cultural impact of Viceland around the world.”
Whyte and Kirsch are based at Vice’s Brooklyn headquarters and report to Slattery. Viceland is a joint venture of Vice Media and A+E Networks.
