EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Pollak, known for his roles in films like A Few Good Men and Martin Scorsese’s Casino, has signed on to helm Swag (Students Without Any Game), an indie comedy film written by Rickey Castleberry and Zimran Jacob.
The pic, loosly based on Castleberry’s life, follows four college sophomore social misfits who find their names on an infamous student losers list curated by the popular sorority girls. The only way off the list is with the tutelage of the Van Wilder-esque lothario of the campus.
Castleberry is producing the project via his company 19f Productions. Estevez Sheen Productions and That’s Hollywood will co-produce alongside Allen Kennamer, Brittany and Harold Perrineau.
Pollak made his directrial debut with the film Missery Loves Comedy, which was picked by Tribeca Film at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. His more recent outing, Late Bloomer, which was released last year, starred Brittany Snow, Johnny Simmons, J.K. Simmons, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jane Lynch. On the acting side, He currently recurs on Amazon’s new series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and will appear in the Hugh Jackman-starring Gary Hart biopic, The Front Runner.
Pollak is repped by Innovative.
