Endemol Shine has set leadership changes atop its German and Northern Europe divisions as Marcus Wolter, CEO of Endemol Shine Germany and Chairman, Northern Europe, has chosen to step down at the end of January. The veteran will be succeeded by Boudewijn Beusmans as Chairman, Northern Europe, in addition to his ongoing role as Joint CEO of Endemol Shine Netherlands. In the case of Endemol Shine Germany, its CFO, Ute März; Head of Strategic Development, Gabi Abegg; and Director of Reality & Docu, Rainer Laux, will lead the local business for an interim period, while a full-time successor is appointed. Wolter is leaving for a new venture after nine years with Endemol and the combined Endemol Shine. Sophie Turner Laing, CEO of Endemol Shine Group said, “I want to pay a wholehearted tribute to Marcus for his outstanding leadership of Endemol Shine Germany and the support he has given to our businesses across Northern Europe. When he leaves us next year, he will do so with our sincere thanks for the contribution he has made to our Group.” Under Wolter’s leadership, the company became the top indie in Germany, with an original slate that includes The Brain, Kitchen Impossible and Duel Around The World, and major drama series such as Netflix’s first ever German original, Dark.
