EXCLUSIVE: Chris and Jason Thornton’s series pitch The Incorruptibles has pre-emptively been purchased by Germany’s ZDF Enterprise. The series will be executive produced by Rosa Entertainment’s Sidney Sherman (Lonely Hearts), Robert Franke at ZDF Enterprises, and the Thornton Brothers.
The storyline is being kept under wraps for the hour-long English-language drama series but it is said to be a high concept, violent action-thriller with satirical black comedy elements.
“We are extremely excited to be working with ZDF Enterprises on developing such a high-octane, envelope-pushing show and bringing it to not only viewers in the states but a global audience,” said the Thornton Brothers. “The incredible support we’ve seen for our creative vision from ZDF Enterprises has been energizing and inspiring to say the least, and we can’t wait to deliver it to the masses.”
The Incorruptibles is set to be an international co-production with ZDF Enterprises and Rosa Entertainment developing the script before taking it on the market. ZDF Enterprises will handle worldwide sales.
“We are very proud of the collaboration with Sidney and the Thorntons,” said Franke, VP ZDFE.drama at ZDF Enterprises. “Our project The Incorruptibles is an important cornerstone of our new collaboration strategy with US producers. It will help ZDF Enterprises to further diversify its catalogue of high-quality drama series by adding a new program color in the much-underserved segment of high concept action series.”
The Thornton Brothers are currently working on the indie Cactus Jack. They previously developed their original pilot The Revenger and wrote the thriller Black Math for Zac Efron’s Ninjas Runnin’ Wild.
Sherman is the executive producer of Todd Robinson’s Vietnam drama The Last Full Measure starring Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, William Hurt, Ed Harris, and Christopher Plummer. In addition, He also produced Eddie Rosenstein’s documentary The Freedom to Marry and set up Cameron Alexander’s feature spec Heart of the Beast with Daniela Taplin Lundberg’s Stay Gold Features.
The Thornton Brothers are repped by UTA, Rosa Entertainment, and attorney Vince Waldman. Sherman is repped by attorney Frank Stewart and ZDF Enterprises by Loeb & Loeb.
