UPDATE: Jeremy Piven adamantly denies the latest allegations of sexual assault made against him. In a response on Twitter, Piven wrote that the accusations “are absolutely false and completely fabricated.” He went on to write, “What am I not able to do is speculate as to the motivations of these women, as a human being I feel compassion for the victims of such acts, but I am perplexed as to the misdirection of anger with false accusations against me and hope they do not detract from the stories that should be heard.” You can read his statement in full below.
PREVIOUS, 8:51 am: A third woman has accused actor Jeremy Piven of sexual assault. Advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby tells People magazine that Piven attacked her in 2003 at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York City.
Meanwhile, a fourth woman, whose 2013 interview describing an incident with Piven has resurfaced, accuses the actor of exposing himself during a 2011 party.
Scourby tells People, “I remember I was wearing this white ribbed turtle neck and brown slacks — business attire — and I was sitting right next to him on the couch. We were talking for about five minutes and he said he was waiting for his [publicist] to come with us.”
Scourby continues that suddenly “he jumped on top of me. I tried to push him off and he forced me to the ground.” She says Piven exposed his genitals, held her hands down and began rubbing against her body until he ejaculated.
Piven denied the allegations in a statement to People: “Let me be absolutely clear, this simply did not happen. I would never force myself on a woman, ever. I cannot speak as to why a person would create a story like this.”
A representative for Piven tells the magazine that the actor would pass a polygraph test and that “He’s now looking at legal options.”
Scourby says she decided to tell her story after reality TV star and Playboy Playmate Ariane Bellamar accused Piven of having sexually assaulted her on the set of HBO’s Entourage. “I 100 percent believe she’s being honest,” Scourby says.
Longmire actress Cassidy Freeman has also accused Piven, writing on Instagram, “I know what you did and attempted to do to me when I was far too young. THAT I know. And you know it too. Unless there were so many of us, that you can’t remember.”
People says Scourby related her story to the magazine over “the course of multiple phone calls over several days.” She says she met Piven at a club and that he invited her to attend a taping of Late Night with Conan O’Brien the next day. Nothing happened the night of the taping, and the following morning at 11 a.m. she met him at his hotel. Piven told her a publicist would join them.
After the alleged incident, Scourby says, “I pushed him off of me and ran down the short hallway to get to the door. I rubbed my chest against the wall to get his [semen] off of my sweater. I ran outside and hailed a cab and I just burst into tears. I cried the entire way back to my hotel.”
Piven’s Wisdom of the Crowd series, from CBS TV Studios, is in production on its original 13-episode order. In a statement late last month after the initial allegations, a CBS spokesperson told Deadline, “We are aware of the media reports and are looking into the matter.”
HBO also issued a response then: “Today, via the press reports, is the first we are hearing about Ariane Bellamar’s allegations concerning Jeremy Piven. Everyone at HBO and our productions is aware that zero tolerance for sexual harassment is our policy. Anyone experiencing an unsafe working environment has several avenues for making complaints that we take very seriously.”
Last week, CBS’ Stephen Colbert-hosted Late Show pulled a segment with Piven, replacing it with an interview with Ronan Farrow.
In the resurfaced 2013 interview, as reported in the UK’s Daily Mail, Isis Taylor, described as a Hawaii-based porn star, says she met Piven at an after-party for the 2011 NBA All Star game. She says when she didn’t know who he was, he said, ‘I’m Jeremy Piven, have you been living under a rock?'”
Then the pair went outside to smoke, she says, and Piven exposed his bare penis to her. “All of a sudden [Piven] is like ‘Look all this can be yours,’ as he points to his d**k. I look down, and his d**k is full blown out.'” Taylor says she went back inside the party after Piven urged her, “Just touch it, just touch it.”
