
The winners for the 45th annual International Emmy Awards were announced tonight, with Kenneth Branagh winning Best Actor for his role in Wallander and Anna Friel taking Best Actress for Marcella. Both series are from the United Kingdom.
Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge’s Scissor Isle taking home the trophy for Best Comedy, also from the UK. Norwegian detective series Mammon II won for Best Drama Series.
Iranian-American comedian and actor Maz Jobrani hosted the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ ceremony at the Hilton in New York.
In addition to the presentation of 11 Emmy statuettes for programming and performances, the Academy presented the 2017 International Emmy Directorate Award to Emilio Azcárraga Jean, who last month left his longtime post as Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Grupo Televisa, the world’s largest Spanish-language content provider and Mexico’s largest broadcaster and pay television provider
The ceremony was also set to give Kevin Spacey a special award but revoked the honor after multiple sexual assault allegations against him.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognized programming from 18 countries in this year’s nominations. Here is the complete list of winners:
