American Pickers co-producer Cineflix Media has launched a Canadian production company aimed at co-producing scripted and factual series for the North American and international markets.
The company has partnered with Pablo Salzman to create Connect3, which will work with independent producers, writers, and showrunners on series. Salzman was previously VP, Commercial Affairs at the Canadian company, joining in 2009. Before that he co-founded ad agency BHM, which specialized in viral marketing for brands.
During his time at Cineflix, he set up the company’s International Development Initiative for Quebec Content, which looked to adapt French-language scripted series and formats created by Quebec producers for the English-speaking global market. Connect3 will continue to oversee the initiative.
It is Cineflix Media’s latest production partnership after striking deals with the likes of Duncan Gray’s Twenty Six 03 Entertainment, which produced Bring The Noise for UK pay-TV broadcaster Sky 1 and Tony Wood’s Buccaneer Media, which produces ITV and Netflix’s crime drama Marcella.

Salzman said: “Connect3 responds to the needs of a changing market. Our mission is to build a community of creative partners to develop and deliver first-class content. Connect3 already has a strong development slate including scripted and factual projects, and we’ll be announcing more details in the coming months.”
“We’re excited to be backing this new venture,” added Peter Emerson, President, Cineflix Media. “By collaborating with like-minded entrepreneurs we’re building a strong global network for content creation and distribution.”
