Sons Of Anarchy actor Tommy Flanagan is reuniting with his co-star Charlie Hunnam in the upcoming Michael Noer-directed remake Papillon, based on the classic 1973 film that starred Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen. Written by Aaron Guzikowski, the pic, which also stars Rami Malek, is a modern retelling of the original, which was based on the memoirs of convicted felon and fugitive Henri Charriere. Tommy will play a mysterious figure with a dark past that Papillon encounters on his journey. Red Granite is producing along with Joey McFarland, Riza Aziz, David Koplan, Ram Bergman and Roger Corbi. Repped by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment, and the Curtis Brown Group, Flanagan will next be seen in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 and the war drama Sand Castle.
Alan Ritchson has joined Brenton Thwaites, Jane Levy, Zachary Levi and Ian Harding in Office Uprising directed by Lin Oeding from a script by Ian Shorr and Peter Gamble Robinson. The story follows a slacker working at a major weapons-manufacturing firm who finds that his co-workers have been “weaponized” by a new energy drink designed for the military. He sets off to rescue his one true love from an office building full of psychotic co-workers armed with tomorrow’s deadliest tech. Giulia Prenna, Jim Steele, Sean Lydiard and Will Clevinger produce. Thwaites also serves as an exec producer alongside Stephanie Pinola and Chris Conover. Ritchson’s film credits include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. He is repped by UTA.
