They’ll announce their first title early next year.
The companies know each other well. Felix & Paul Studios’ Paul Raphaël and Félix Lajeunesse directed Wild — The Experience, a three minute VR production based on Fox Searchlight’s film Wild.
Fox took the production to the annual CES confab two years ago to impress many in the tech community about the potential to use VR for entertainment storytelling.
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Fox Innovation Lab President Mike Dunn says that Felix & Paul Studios “represents the highest caliber of immersive and engaging experiences” that realizes “the possibilities for the future of consumer entertainment, from both a creative and technical perspective.”
Felix & Paul Chief Content Officer Ryan Horrigan says that VR “requires an entirely new language of storytelling, enabling audiences to engage with characters and stories in ways never before possible.”
He also lauded Fox’s “major leadership role in this new medium.”
Bryan Besser of Los Angeles-based talent and literary agency Verve brokered the deal for Felix & Paul Studios.
