20th Century Fox just created a big job for Mike Dunn: He was promoted to President of Product Strategy and Consumer Business Development for the entire studio, up from his previous role as president of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Worldwide and a Director of the Fox Innovation Lab.
The change puts Dunn in charge of initiatives for emerging media platforms, distribution models, partnerships with leading consumer electronics and technology companies, and overseas opportunities. He’ll still oversee the Worldwide Home Entertainment unit.
Over the last few years Dunn has led Fox’s charge into virtual reality and digital movie distribution. That’s made him one of Hollywood’s most visible representatives at the annual CES consumer electronics confab, which takes place in early January.
“Mike has been an industry leader helping to ensure Fox is driving the development of innovative technology and new consumer experiences across all formats and distribution models,” studio CEO Stacey Snider says. His promotion “will further our position as a global leader in the new media landscape.”
Dunn says the studio has “a significant opportunity to leverage technology and new business opportunities to liberate the creative vision of our films.”
In addition to his work at Fox, Dunn is Chair of the Digital Entertainment Group’s (DEG) Board of Directors, and is on the Consumer Technology Association’s Board of Industry Leaders.
