CBS is developing a multi-camera comedy co-written, executive produced and starring actress Bojana Novakovic (Rake). The project hails from Working Title TV, a joint venture between NBCU International Studios, which is overseen by Michael Edelstein, and Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Written by Novakovic, Kate Gersten (Mozart In The Jungle) and Everybody Loves Raymond veteran Tucker Cawley, the untitled comedy centers on a dutiful, people-pleasing daughter at the center of a family that’s breaking apart and explores what it means to be single and looking for love from the perspective of three age groups. Novakovic, Gersten and Cawley executive produce with Working Title’s Bevan, Fellner and Andrew Stearn. CBS TV Studios is co-producing with NBCUniversal International.
The comedy joins dramas at ABC, NBC and Fox as Working Title Television has sold projects to all Big Four broadcast networks in its first development season since Stearn joined as president. The dramas are an adaptation of James Renner’s book The Man From Primrose Lane at Fox with feature director-producer Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes); the Bermuda triangle-themed Triangle at NBC; and dance drama DTLA at ABC, penned by Valley Girl co-writer Amy Talkington.
Serbian-born Australian actress Novakovic, who recently recurred on Showtime’s Shameless, is repped by CAA, Australia’s Lisa Mann Creative Management, Management 360 and attorney Bob Wallerstein. Gersten is repped by WME, The Shuman Company and Bloom Hergott.
