NBC Nabs Sisters Comedy From Tina Fey & Robert Carlock As Put Pilot

Tina Fey has sold single-camera comedy The Sackett Sisters to NBC through her Little Stranger banner. On the project, which has received a put pilot commitment, 30 Rock creator/executive producer Fey is teamed with her regular collaborator, 30 Rock executive producer Robert Carlock, with the two backing another former writer from the Emmy-winning NBC series, Luke Del Tredici.

Penned by Brooklyn Nine-Nine executive producer Del Tredici, The Sackett Sisters is about two estranged sisters who perform a Sully Sullenberger-esque act of public heroism, then are forced to navigate their new found notoriety together.

Del Tredici, Fey and Carlock executive produce with 3 Arts’ David Miner (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). The project hails from Universal TV, where Fey, Carlock and Del Tredici all have overall deals; Little Stranger; and 3 Arts.

Following Fey and Carlock’s partnership on 30 Rock, which the two co-ran, they created and executive produce Netflix’s Emmy-nominated Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which recently went into production on Season 3.

Fey has been very targeted in her development with a couple of high-profile sales a season in tandem with Carlock — virtually all of them involving writers the two had worked with on 30 Rock. The sales have yielded four pilots with 30 Rock alums: Cabot College at Fox and Family Fortune at ABC with Matt Hubbard, The Kicker at CBS with Jack Burditt, and Great News at NBC with Tracey Wigfield. Great News went to to series, set to debut this midseason.

Following his stint as a supervising producer and co-executive producer on 30 Rock, Del Tredici joined the Fox/Uni TV comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine after the pilot as a co-executive producer. He has since been promoted to executive producer alongside Miner.
