Buchanan moves to Lifetime/LMN from CMT, where she served as SVP Programming Strategy and Acquisitions for the Viacom network. She now reports to Christian Drobnyk, SVP Strategy, Scheduling and Acquisitions at Lifetime.
During her tenure at CMT, Buchanan was responsible for the programming, strategy, scheduling, on-air promo media planning, research analysis, multi-platform and digital scheduling and all acquisitions for the network. She also oversaw the acquisition coordination for additional Viacom brands, including Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TeenNick and TV Land.
Previously, Buchanan was SVP at NBCUniversal/Comcast’s Style Network, where she led the programming and acquisitions strategy. During her 10-year stint there, she also worked in development, where she collaborated on new series and specials, brought in domestic and international formats and identified talent-driven documentaries. In 2010, Buchanan developed, produced and launched the Daytime Emmy-nominated teen series Too Fat for 15: Fighting Back, based on a special in the UK. She began her career at MTV Networks working in on-air promotions for VH1.
