The editorial staff at Fusion, the Univision-owned digital news site, has voted to unionize with the WGA East. More than 90% of Fusion’s 70-member bargaining unit voted in favor of unionizing following two days of online voting.

Fusion_logo is the second Univision digital site to seek union representation in the past few weeks. Last month, the editorial staff of asked the guild to represent them. Gawker Media, which was bought by Univision this year, already has a contract with the guild that’s expected to be a template for other digital sites.

“The creative professionals at Fusion’s digital operation have spoken decisively in favor of collective bargaining,” said WGA East executive director Lowell Peterson. “We will work closely with these hard-working professionals to ensure that their real needs are addressed in the workplace, and in a collective bargaining agreement.”

The staffs of the Huffington Post, Vice Media, Salon and ThinkProgress have also voted to unionize with the WGA East.
