Sony just announced internally a trio of promotions at Affirm, its faith-based label that has seen success with pics including Miracles From Heaven, which grossed $74 million worldwide since its March release, as well as titles like War Room and Risen. Rich Peluso, who has run the label since it launched in 2007, has been upped to EVP and will continue to oversee the slate; Tana Evans has been elevated to SVP marketing and distribution, and Josh Nadler has been promoted to director, development.
Here’s the memo that just went around from Steven Bersch, president of Sony Worldwide Acquisitions who oversees the label. He is the head of acquisitions responsible for bringing in many of the faith-based movies for Affirm, and who teams to spearhead and run the big faith-based campaigns that have led to the label’s success:

I want to recognize three promotions at our AFFIRM Films label of the Motion Picture Group: Rich Peluso, who has run AFFIRM since its founding in 2007, has been promoted to executive vice president, continuing to oversee the label; Tana Evans has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and distribution; and Josh Nadler has been promoted to director, development.
These well-deserved promotions come at an auspicious moment for AFFIRM Films. In the past few years, our studio has become the industry leader in films for audiences of faith; by forging powerful connections with incredible reach, AFFIRM has no peer in reaching the core audience for these films. Behind films like War Room, which hit #1 on the domestic box office chart on the way to $68M and RISEN, and as the faith-based marketing partner for the Columbia pictures Miracles from Heaven and Heaven is for Real, which became the #2 faith-based film of all time, the studio has now notched seven of the top 10 faith-based domestic openings of all time and is currently the most profitable faith-based studio, delivering over $420 million in domestic box office.
Preparing for 2017, the AFFIRM Films team is currently overseeing post-production and advance marketing planning for its new production All Saints, as well as working with Sony Pictures Animation on the Christmas 2017 release of SPA’s production The Star.
