Fifty Shades Darker director James Foley, writer Christopher Yost (Thor franchise), visual effects producer Dane Smith (Deadpool, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Marvel’s Victoria Alonso have joined the line-up for first VR On the Lot conference taking place next week at Paramount. The focus of the conference is on virtual reality content, production, distribution and technology and several heavy hitters will be for presentations, including Intel, Google and Sony.
“Many of our VR colleagues have news to share so it will be a very informative gathering,” said Jim Chabin, who is president and CEO of Advanced Imaging Society. He said that the gathering of VR professionals in the creative community is “unique in the short history of this new medium.”
In addition, a Chinese contingent will be attending and speaking with reps from New Zealand. X-Men franchise director Bryan Singer will give one of the keynotes as will Academy and Emmy Award winning visual effects artist Robert Stromberg (Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Hunger Games). VR On the Lot will take place over two days next week on Thursday, Oct. 13 and Friday, Oct. 14.
