EXCLUSIVE: Michael Nathanson (The Knick, Wolf of Wall Street), has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming Netflix series The Punisher, the Jon Bernthal-toplined spinoff from Marvel’s Daredevil.
Nathanson will play Sam Stein, a Homeland Security agent, somewhat disillusioned with his job, who is partnered with character Dinah Madani, played by Amber Rose Revah.
In addition to Bernthal, who plays Frank Castle/The Punisher and Revah, Nathanson joins fellow series regulars Ben Barnes, who plays Billy Russo, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, cast as Micro.
Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will write the series’ first two episodes of The Punisher in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer. Jim Chory will also serve as Executive Producer along with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television.
Marvel’s The Punisher is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. It is set to debut in 2017.
Nathanson is repped by Lillian LaSalle at Sweet 180 and Innovative Artists.
