Cleo Anthony (Divergent) has been cast as one of the male leads opposite DeWanda Wise in Spike Lee’s 10-episode Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It, a contemporary update of Lee’s groundbreaking 1986 indie film.
The series centers on Darling (Wise), a Brooklyn-based sexually liberated, free-spirited painter/mixed media artist in her late 20s struggling to define herself and divide her time amongst her friends, her job and her three lovers.
Anthony will portray one of the lovers, Greer Childs, a former model turned successful photographer who longs for an artist’s life. The role was played by John Canada Terrell in the movie. Anthony Ramos was previously cast as another of Nola’s lovers, da original b-boy sneakerhead Mars Blackmon, the part played by Lee in the movie.
Anthony has recurred on Extant and Transparent and also starred in Lifetime movie Seasons Of Love opposite Taraji P. Henson. He’s repped by UTA, Luber Roklin and attorney Neil Meyer.
