“This is my time to be rootless.” Finally we have the first footage from Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a series of four 90-minute telepics that spans the winter, spring, summer and fall seasons. Picking up nine years after we last visited Stars Hollow, CT — the original series ran from 2000-06 on the WB and 2008-07 on the CW — it finds each of the women at a crossroads.
Lorelai’s (Lauren Graham) relationship with Luke (Scott Patterson) is at an unnerving standstill, Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) budding journalism career in New York has stalled before it’s even begun, and Emily’s (Kelly Bishop) world is turned upside down following the untimely passing of her beloved husband, Richard. Also back for the revisiting are such original series vets as Melissa McCarthy (as Sookie St. James), Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Yanic Truesdale (Michel Gerard), Liza Weil (Paris Geller), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano), Sean Gunn (Kirk Gleason), Chris Elgeman (Jason Stiles) and Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger).
All four pics in the series go live on the streaming service November 25 — the day after Thanksgiving, when so many families are enjoying — or enduring — quality bonding time. Have a look at the trailer above and tell us what you think. Will you be sharing a turkey and cranberries sandwich with the Gilmore Girls?
