Co-written by Elliott and Donaldson, Bad Dates will feature re-enactments of regular everyday people’s worst and most awkward dating experiences. Simons, who plays Congressman Jonah Ryan on Veep, will not act in the show but will serve as producer. Brillstein’s Ben Curtis will executive produce.
Simons’ film credits include The Interview, Inherent Vice, Goosebumps and indie Christine. As a creator, Simons, along with Veep’s Matt Walsh, has a feature in development at Paramount. He’s repped by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Myman Greenspan.
Donaldson and Elliott most recently penned Ghost Graduation for 20th Century Fox with Overbrook producing. Their original feature Over/Under was on the 2012 Black List. In TV they are currently developing The Whole Nine at CBS with Chris Case, the Tannenbaum Co. and Doug Banker producing. They’re repped by CAA, Rise Management and McKuin Frankel.
