Billy Bush’s last day at NBC and Today could come very soon but Harry Connick Jr.’s first day on the morning show will be Monday. A week after a leaked 2005 tape of then Access Hollywood host Bush and then Apprentice host Donald Trump revealed the duo in lewd conversation and demeaning women, sources say that Bush’s exit from the Peacock network could come this weekend or even tonight.
“It’s crossing the t’s and doting the i’s time now,” one well placed individual told Deadline. “They have a deal in principle to see Billy leave,” the source added, asserting that things could still hit a delay going into the evening.
The revelations of the 2005 tape on October 7 has not just seen Bush suspended by NBC and yanked off Today this week but threatened to capsize Trump’s White House bid – especially as a number of women, including a former Apprentice contestant, have now emerged to say the real estate mogul sexually assaulted them over the past three decades. Trump and his campaign have vehemently denied the claims
As talks between NBC News and representatives for the disgraced Bush’s departure reach their final stage, life at Today moved forward with the ex-American Idol judge announced on Friday that he will be sitting in on October 17th and 18th with co-host Tamron Hall:

The booking is a corporate synergy play as Connick Jr. hosts a new daytime talk show for NBC Universal TV Distribution. No word yet who will fill in the rest of the week or who will replace Bush full-time – but Billy ain’t coming back, that’s for sure.
