EXCLUSIVE: Beau Knapp has been cast as Knox, Bruce Willis’ main adversary in Eli Roth’s action crime film Death Wish. He joins Vincent D’Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Dean Norris, Mike Epps, Kimberly Elise, Camilla Morrone and Ronnie Gene Blevins in MGM’s remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson film.
The pic centers on Paul Kersey (Willis), whose life is destroyed by a violent crime against his wife and daughter. Frustrated that the bad guys were not brought to justice for the nefarious act inflicted on his family, he starts hunting for the perpetrators himself.
Roger Birnbaum is producing the screenplay written by Dean Georgaris and Roth, from an original draft by Joe Carnahan. Filming is underway in Montreal.
Knapp is currently shooting the Tali Shalom Ezer-directed indie Mercy alongside Kate Mara and Ellen Page. The young actor will next be seen on the big screen in Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk out November 11. Other recent film credits include The Nice Guy, Southpaw, and Run All Night. Knapp is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and CAA.
