The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has set the full list of key dates for next year’s BAFTA Television Awards. As it recently did with the film awards, BAFTA has also made some tweaks to eligibility in both the main TV prizes and Craft areas.
Significant changes to the TV Awards include the kiboshing of a rule that previously stipulated 50% of the funding for a series came from the UK. The primary criteria for qualification will now be that creative control of a project resides in Britain. The change reflects BAFTA’s desire to adapt to the new landscape and not exclude talent because of funding models, Director of Awards Emma Baehr explained to Deadline.
Notably, under the old rules, series like Netflix’s The Crown, the BBC’s The Night Manager or War And Peace would not have been eligible due to their funding models which would have instead relegated them to the International Series category. Another stipulation is that the worldwide premiere broadcast has to have been in the UK, although in cases where a series premieres day-and-date (ie on Netflix) it will still qualify.
BAFTA Sets Date For 2022 Film Awards
On the Craft side, even if a show is only eligible in the International category of the main TV awards, individuals may be considered for Craft Awards as long as the UK is the usual place of residency and employment for the candidate(s) for nomination and the craft under consideration has been completed in the UK.

The Craft Awards nominations are set for March 28 with the ceremony on April 23. The main TV Awards noms are out on April 11, ahead of the May 14 ceremony. See below for the full list of key dates.
