Eve Hewson and Avan Jogia have been tapped to topline Rebecca Addelman’s feature directorial debutPaper Year. Andie MacDowell and Hamish Linklater also co-star in the film, which commenced filming this week. Myriad Pictures is handling sales at AFM this week.
Also written by Addelman, the film centers on Franny and Dan, newly married young couple who are barely employed and have $175 between them. They are madly in love and ready to conquer the world but as they move into the first year of marriage, they encounter obstacles that reveal cracks in their relationship forcing them to question whether they made a fully formed decision.
First Generation Films founder Christina Piovesan will produce alongside Jennifer Shin, Kirk D’Amico, Emily Alden, Penny Mancuso. Anne Hong will executive produce. Pacific Northwest Pictures will handle Canadian theatrical distribution on the pic, which will be broadcast on the CBC in Canada following its theatrical run.
Irish actress Hewson can be seen in the upcoming film Robin Hood: Origins directed by Otto Bathurst. Her other film credits include Steven Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies and Paolo Sorrentino’s This Must Be The Place. On the TV side, she was most recently on Steven Soderbergh’s Cinemax series The Knick. Hewson is with UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
Jogia starred opposite Ben Kingsley in Spike TV’s miniseries Tut and recently wrapped Eddie O’Keefe’s Shangri-La Suite with Emily Browning and Luke Grimes. Other projects include Casey Wilder Mott’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Lea Thompson’s A Year Of The Spectacular Man.
