Late Night with Seth Meyers has jumped on the bandwagon and, like Late Show with Stephen Colbert, will air a live episode Monday, Sept. 26 at 12:35 AM ET following the first presidential debate, which will be hosted by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt.

Late Night will air “only a few hours following” the highly anticipated first debate between Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.  Colbert will be live with post-debate satire one-hour earlier.

Colbert’s show generated buzz with its live coverage of the DNC and RNC conventions earlier in the election cycle. But Meyers show also is a destination for political satire this election cycle and, in the most recent week for which final national ratings are available, Meyers show out-rated both Colbert’s and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in the 18-49 demo, despite Meyers’ later timeslot.
