Here is the teaser trailer for Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, the romantic thriller that made Cannes history when Universal slapped down $20M to acquire it for its specialty division Focus Features and then went on to win the Grand Jury Prize in Venice. Starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer and Laura Linney, the film will be released November 18 in time for the Thanksgiving holiday then expands December 9.
Based on the 1993 novel Tony and Susan by Austin Wright, Nocturnal Animals also was produced by director Ford from his own adaptation. The intriguing story is about a successful Los Angeles art gallery owner whose life is jarred when she receives a manuscript written by her first husband, who she has not seen in years. As the woman reads the book, she is forced to face the dark past. Having screened Wednesday night in Toronto, the film already is being buzzed about for Oscar consideration.
