Justin Lin, Marlon Wayans Judges Of NBCUniversal Short Film Festival

Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond) and actor/producer Marlon Wayans have been named as judges for the 11th annual NBCUniversal Short Film Festival. They will be joined by Will Packer (Ride Along), Tracey Wigfield (The Mindy Project), Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat), Hasan Minaj (The Daily Show), Malcolm D. Lee (Barbershop: The Next Cut) and Masi Oka (Heroes). The fest is part of NBCUniversal Talent Infusion Programs, which promotes and encourages people of diverse backgrounds, in front and behind the camera, to become the next generation of storytellers.

The festival, which was founded in 2006, officially commenced in New York last month with a two-day screening of shorts from this year’s semi-finalists in front of industry professionals. A finale screening and award ceremony is set for October 19 at the Director’s Guild of America. Finalist awards prizes include holding deals, monetary grants, and development meetings at NBCUniversal.
