The Gotham Independent Film Awards has tapped Amy Adams and Ethan Hawke to receive Actor Tributes and Snowden’s Oliver Stone for the Director Tribute at this year’s show, set for November 28 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. An Industry Tribute is still to be announced.
Adams is on the fest circuit with Arrival, Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi pic that just bowed at the Venice Film Festival ahead of its November 11 release via Paramount. She also has Focus Features’ Tom Ford pic Nocturnal Animals hitting theaters November 18. She won the Gothams’ Breakthrough Actor award in 2010 for Junebug.
Hawke, who played Chet Baker in this year’s Born to Be Blue, is up next in Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven, which Sony releases September 23. His pic Maudie with Sallie Hawkins just played Telluride.
Stone’s Edward Snowden biopic Snowden bows September 16.
Nominations in the 10 Gotham Awards categories will be unveiled October 20.
