Bloodline‘s Enrique Murciano has joined Sony Pictures’ Rock That Body, the R-rated comedy about a bachelorette party in Miami that goes wrong and a male stripper ends up dead. Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoe Kravitz star with Demi Moore, Ty Burrell, Dean Winters and Colton Haynes. The pic has a June 23 release date with Lucia Aniello direcing a script she co-wrote with Paul W. Downs. Murciano, who currently has roles on Starz’s Power and SundanceTV’s Hap and Leonard, also has New Line’s Will Smith starrer Collateral Beauty coming out this year and just wrapped shooting the TNT pilot Civil. He is repped by Gersh and Justin Grey Stone at Management 360.
American Pie alum Chris Klein has been cast in Harvey Lowry’s The Competition, starring Thora Birch, who is also producing. Currently in preproduction, the film focuses on a successful blogger who develops a theory that encourages her female followers to break up with men after six months to avoid heartache. However, her philosophy on relationships is questioned when she meets an attorney who challenges her to a competition to prove her theory wrong. Kelsey Tucker and Jasmine Fontes are also producing. Klein co-starred in three of the four American Pie installments. Other credits include Authors Anonymous with Kaley Cuoco and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. He is repped by ICM Partners.
