EXCLUSIVE: Elisabeth Shue has been cast opposite Bruce Willis in Death Wish, the Eli Roth-directed remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson film for Paramount and MGM. She joins Mike Epps, Dean Norris and Vincent D’Onofrio in the film, which is shooting in Chicago and Montreal.
Shue will play the wife of Paul Kersey (Willis), whose life is destroyed by a violent crime against his wife and daughter. Frustrated that the bad guys were not brought to justice for the nefarious act inflicted on his family, he starts hunting for the perpetrators himself.
Roger Birnbaum is producing the pic with a script from Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Joe Carnahan penned the original script.
Shue spent four seasons as Julie Finlay on CBS’ long-running crime drama CSI. On the film side, she received an Oscar nom for her leading role in Mike Figgis’ Leaving Los Vegas. Up next, Shue can be seen alongside Emma Stone in Battle of the Sexes, directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. Other credits include Hollow Man, Chasing Mavericks and House at the End of The Street.
Shue is repped by CAA.
