Company veteran Arianna Bocco has been promoted to EVP Acquisitions and Production at IFC Films/Sundance Selects. She has spent nearly a decade overseeing acquisitions and production for IFC Films, Sundance Selects and IFC Midnight, the multiplatform film distribution labels owned and operated by AMC Networks.
Since joining the company in 2006, Bocco has spearheaded all of its acquisitions, acquiring the rights to such acclaimed indie fare as Certain Women, Michael Winterbottom’s The Trip series, Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake and Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg’s Weiner, winner of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize. Among the 400-plus other titles IFC Films/Sundance Selects has acquired during her tenure are Gomorrah; Hunger; Two Days, One Night; In the Loop, Clouds of Sils Maria, Carlos and 2007 Palme d’Or winner 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.
“Arianna is one of the most talented and experienced executives in independent film,” Co-Presidents Jonathan Sehring and Lisa Schwartz said in announcing the move. “Her superb creative instincts and great eye for unique material have led to a proud history of IFC Films distributing some of the most celebrated and acclaimed independent films of all time.”
