
As Ole Miss took a tumble against Florida State in a much watched game on ESPN last night and Rob Lowe got roasted on Comedy Central, the originals on the Big 4 saw a Labor Day decline from last week – and some from last year.
Monday still saw an overall win for NBC with a 1.4/5 rating and 4.93 million watching, but that was down 18% in the demo from August 29. The Comcast-owned net had the highest rated and most watched show of the night with American Ninja Warrior (1.5/6). However, the obstacle course series dropped 21% among adults 18-49 from last week. Compared to its Labor Day performance of last year, ANW was down 12% in the key demo.
Lead-out Running Wild with Bear Grylls (1.0/3) had Lindsey Vonn as a guest but saw a hard 29% demo drop from last week. Still, year-to-year, Running Wild was even with Labor Day 2015.
Fox’s only original of the night was So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation (0.5/2), which was also down 29% from last week. The first night of the latest season finale of ABC’s Bachelor In Paradise (1.4/5) dropped 13% among the 18-49s from its August 29 show. However, compared to its Night 1 finale of last year, which was on a Sunday, BIP was up 27%. Mistresses (0.5/20 was down a tenth from last week.
CBS and the CW were all encores on Monday night.
