ABC has put in development The Marquis, an hourlong drama project executive produced by Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Supergirl), Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries) and Sarah Schechter. Warner Bros. TV is the studio.
Written and executive produced by Quantico executive producer/writer Jake Coburn, The Marquis is described as a sexy and twisted character soap set in the most iconic and exclusive building in Manhattan.
The Marquis, which sounds a little bit like ABC/WBTV’s 666 Park Avenue, hails from Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Plec’s My So-Called Company in association with WBTV where both companies are based.
Long-time friends Berlanti and Plec recently teamed on The CW drama series The Tomorrow People. The Marquis also reunites Coburn with Berlanti on whose CW drama Arrow he previously worked. Coburn also was a producer and writer on Gossip Girl and Dirty Sexy Money. All parties are repped by WME.
