Teen Wolf co-star Shelley Hennig has been cast in When We First Met, the romantic comedy co-written by and starring Adam Devine along with Alexandra Daddario. Hennig will play the best friend to Daddario’s Avery in the pic, about a guy (Devine) who spends the perfect first night with the girl of his dreams (Daddario) but is relegated to the friend zone. He spends the next three years wondering what went wrong — until he gets the unexpected chance to travel back in time and alter that night, and his fate, over and over again. Hennig, the former Miss Teen USA-turned-actress whose recent credits include the horror pics Unfriended and Ouija, is repped by Alchemy Entertainment and Stone Genow.
Stephen Root has joined the cast of Three Christs, Jon Avnet’s adaptation of Milton Rokeach’s book The Three Christs Of Ypsilanti. The pic is set in 1959 at a Michigan state mental health hospital, where a charismatic psychiatrist (Richard Gere) and his young assistant use new controversial methods to treat their three schizophrenic patients who all claim to be Jesus Christ. Walton Goggins, Peter Dinklage, Bradley Whitford and Julianna Margulies also star. Root will play Dr. William Rogers, the Commissioner of Michigan’s Mental Health Services and long-term friend of Gere’s character, with whom he served in Korea. The film is shooting in New York City. Root, whose long list of film credits include No Country for Old Men, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Office Space, is onscreen in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and next appears as a regular on the upcoming HBO comedy. He is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
