The Toronto International Film Festival unviled a slew of new titles today including the tTIFF Docs program which will showcase works from such award-winning helmers as Steve James, Raoul Peck, Errol Morris, Werner Herzog and Fisher Stevens. Leonardo DiCaprio collaborated with the latter on climate change call to action, The Turning Point which will have its world premiere in Canada. Netflix has four films debuting in the section: Herzog and Clive Oppenheimer’s Into The Inferno, about the relationship between humans and volcanoes; The Ivory Game, from directors Richard Ladkani and Kief Davidson, about African elephant extinction that counts DiCaprio as an executive producer; Amanda Knox, about the American student accused of murder in Italy; and The White Helmets, from the filmmaking team behind Virunga.
