Tiya Sircar has booked a heavily recurring role opposite Kristen Bell and Ted Danson in The Good Place, NBC’s new 13-episode straight-to-series comedy series from Parks & Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Mike Schur.
The Good Place centers on Eleanor (Bell), a woman from New Jersey who comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. She decides to turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be “good” or “bad,” and then trying to make up for her past behavior.
Details of Sircar’s character are being kept under wraps, but we hear it’s a pivotal role.
The Good Place is produced by Universal Television, 3 Arts and Fremulon.
Known as the voice of Sabine in animated series Star Wars Rebels, Sircar’s other credits include a series regular role in NBC’s untitled Amy Poehler/Charlie Grandy pilot, and recurring roles in Witches of East End, The Crazy Ones and Betas. Her film work includes a starring role in The Internship opposite Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson. Sircar is repped by Gersh and LINK Entertainment.
