“It’s not my son. It’s just a body that I feed and wash and clothe.” Setting aside the inherent sadness of that quote, here is the first trailer for Shut In, starring Naomi Watts, Oliver Platt and Jacob Tremblay.
Two-time Oscar nominee Watts plays a child psychologist whose husband was killed and son (Charlie Heaton) is permanently injured in a car crash. Now living an isolated existence in rural New England, she takes on a new client — a young boy (Tremblay) whose mother has died. When a decision is made to move him away, she takes the child in. All seems to be going well. “It’s like I have my little boy back,” she says.
But when a deadly snowstorm swoops in, the kid takes off and vanishes. Authorities say there’s no way he could survive the winter blast. Meanwhile, the guilt-ridden woman begins having nightmares — or are they real? Is the boy she took in haunting her, or is it all in her head?
Charlie Heaton and David Cubitt also star in the film directed by Farren Blackburn from Christina Hodson’s script. Here is the new poster for Shut In, which hits theaters November 11 via EuropaCorp:
