EXCLUSIVE: Rumer Willis and Aquarius‘ Emma Dumont are toplining Rob Gardner’s indie thriller What Lies Ahead, which has now started principal photography in Kentucky. Gardner and writer William J. Viglione are producing via their Lago Pictures along with Joel Segal and Joe Burke.
The pic centers on a woman (Dumont) and her boyfriend’s sister (Willis) who embark on an unexpected road trip from Georgia to New York. As they get to know each other, encountering assorted locals and misadventures along the way, an unseen peril begins to emerge that threatens to grow stronger with each passing mile.
Jeff Mardis, Renee Mardis, Ray Perkins and Marv Dauer are executive producers.
Willis, who is about to embark on her multi-city Over The Love concert tour (she’s been Roxie Hart on Broadway and did a stint at the Café Carlyle), recently wrapped shooting Future World opposite James Franco and Hello Again starring Audra McDonald. She is repped by APA, Untitled Entertainment and attorney Bianca Levin.
Dumont, who co-starred on the then-ABC Family series Bunheads, currently stars opposite David Duchovny on NBC’s Aquarius, which returns for the rest of its Season 2 on Saturdays beginning this weekend. She is repped by APA and Untitled.
