‘Masters Of Sex’ Casts Rondi Reed; Tanjareen Thomas In ‘Famous In Love’

Mike & Molly alumna Rondi Reed has booked a recurring role on the upcoming fourth season of Showtime’s drama series Masters of Sex. Reed will play Helen’s (Sarah Silverman) mother, a woman caught completely off guard by her daughter’s sexual orientation when she and her husband come by for a family visit. Season 4 of Masters of Sex, starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson, kicks off in 1968 and will chronicle the “swinging ‘70s.” Reed won a Tony for her performance as Mattie Fae Aikin in August: Osage County. In addition to her starring role as Mike’s mother Peggy on Mike & Molly, Reed’s other credits include HBO’s You Don’t Know Jack, and feature The Astronaut’s Wife. She’s repped by Stewart Talent.

Tanjareen Thomas (Family Time) has signed on for a recurring role in Freeform’s upcoming drama series Famous in Love. based on Rebecca Serle’s romantic novel, starring Bella Thorne. Written by Serle and I. Marlene King, Famous in Love centers on Paige (Thorne), an ordinary college student who gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads while discovering the highs and lows that come with being the new It Girl in town. Thomas will play Brandy, someone from Jordan’s (Keith Powers) past with a secret she holds over him. Thomas returns to her series regular role of Rachel on the fourth season of Bounce TV’s Family Time later this fall. She’s repped by Elev8 Talent Agency of Beverly Hills.
