
BREAKING: Finding Steve McQueen, a heist film based on the true story of the biggest bank heist in U.S. history is coming quickly together with Mark Steven Johnson on board to direct and Travis Fimmel (Warcraft), Kate Bosworth, Forest Whitaker and William Fichtner (The Dark Knight) lining up as the cast.
Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Group is Financing and Producing the Film with Silvio Muraglia’s Paradox Studios and Anthony Mastromauro’s Identity Films. Principal photography is slated to begin next month in Atlanta, Georgia, and — one day ago — a casting call went out for locals in Atlanta. AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of the AMBI Group, is handling global sales and will be introducing the project to buyers in Toronto during TIFF.
Also joining the cast in supporting roles are John Finn (Catch Me If You Can), Rhys Coiro (Entourage), and Louis Lombardi (Jersey Boys).
Finding Steve McQueen, written by Keith Sharon (Showtime) and Ken Hixon (City by th
e Sea), is about a gang of close-knit thieves from Youngstown, Ohio who, in election year 1972, attempt to steal $30 million in illegal contributions and blackmail money from President Richard Nixon’s secret fund.
Producers are Mastromauro, Muraglia, Iervolino Monika Bacardi, and Alexandra Klim. Mikael Wiren will executive produce.

The director Johnson is repped by Paradigm and The Gotham Group. Whitaker is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment. Fimmel, whose credits include Maggie’s Plan, and the recently wrapped Lean on Pete from director Andrew Haighis, is repped by Paradigm and Management 360. Bosworth is repped by CAA and Management 360. Fichtner is repped by APA.
