The Gotham Group has optioned Randi Zuckerberg’s New York Times bestselling Dot Complicated: Untangling Our Wired Lives book to develop as a TV series, with Zuckerberg set to executive produce. A network is not yet attached.
Published by HarperCollins in 2013, Dot Complicated offers a guide to understanding how technology and social media influence and inform our lives online and off. Author, digital media entrepreneur, investor and producer Zuckerberg details in Dot Complicated the opportunities and obstacles, problems and solutions to this new online reality. She reveals how to make it through your life online in one piece – from the etiquette of unfriending and the power of crowd sourcing, to the perils of photo tags and the importance of teaching your kids how to be tech savvy.
“I’ve wanted to work with Randi since I met her several years ago,” says The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. “Who knows how to navigate social media better? She’s a total insider and completely authentic.”
After her tenure at Facebook. co-founded by her brother Mark Zuckerberg, Randi Zuckerberg went on to become the founder and CEO of Zuckerberg Media, host of Dot Complicated on SiriusXM, and Editor-in-Chief of DotComplicated.com. She also served as mentor on Oxygen’s Quit Your Day Job, as well as executive producer of Dot, based on her recent children’s book, premiering on CBC and Sprout this fall.
