Communications veteran Paul Hewitt has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Communications, The CW, from his previous SVP role. The announcement was made today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, to whom he will continue to report.
Hewitt will continue to oversee all communications strategies, media relations, program publicity, corporate communications, photo publicity and talent relations for The CW, as well as all internal communications.
Hewitt has worked his way up the ranks since joining the network in 2006 as Vice President, Corporate Communications. He was bumped up to SVP Communications, The CW, in 2010.
Prior to The CW, Hewitt was Vice President, Communications at UPN from 2003-2006, where, in addition to his duties as corporate communications liaison with the business and trade media, he also helped organize key press events and manage the network’s entertainment publicity staff. He joined UPN in 2002 as Director, Corporate Communications.
In 1998, Hewitt served as Manager, Corporate Communications at Fox Broadcasting Company. Hewitt first started in television in Fox’s research and marketing department in 1995.
