A stuntman was seriously injured today at the Aqua Dulce Airport in Santa Clarita, CA when he was run over by an SUV while filming a scene for Shooter, the upcoming USA Network series based on the 2007 Paramount movie. Cal/OSHA is investigating but offered no further details.
The Santa Clarita Signal newspaper reported the accident occurred just after noon PT, quoting LA County Fire Department spokesman Joey Marron. “An adult male was struck by a vehicle and partially trapped underneath it,” Battalion 22 Fire Chief Darus Ane told the Signal shortly after the man was rescued. Ane said the victim was freed before the LACFD arrived on the scene.
The series, from Paramount TV and Universal Cable Productions, follows the courageous journey of Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe), a decorated ex-Marine sniper who is coaxed back into action by his former commanding officer (Omar Epps) after he learns about a plot to kill the President. Tom Sizemore, Shantel VanSanten and Cynthia Addai-Robinson also star.
USA has already set Tuesday, July 19 for the premiere of the drama series.
