Felisha Terrell (Survivors Remorse) is set as the female lead in WGN America’s drama pilot Roadside Picnic, an alien saga based on the famous novel by top Soviet/Russian science fiction writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. Written by Transcendence scribe Jack Paglen, with Terminator: Genisys and Game of Thrones helmer Alan Taylor attached to direct and Neal Moritz producing, Roadside Picnic explores a near-future world where aliens have come and gone, leaving humankind to explore the wondrous and dangerous mysteries left behind. The story also explores the social ramifications of their visit, as seen through the eyes of Red (Matthew Goode), a veteran “stalker” who has made it his mission to illegally venture into the once inhabited zone and scavenge the abandoned remains of the alien culture. Terrell will play Red’s wife Guta, a tough, street-wise woman who never fell to the trappings of her beauty. She tries her best to normalize their family life in the complicated situation they are dealt with. Terrell also recurs on the upcoming season of Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, which returns on July 24. She is repped by Innovative and Primary Wave Entertainment.
Amanda Plummer (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) has joined the cast of Citizen, Hulu’s supernatural drama pilot from Me and Earl and the Dying Girl director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Paramount TV and Anonymous Content. Set against the backdrop of a vibrant, “supernaturalized” Los Angeles, Citizen is a hero origin story, blending gritty vigilantism with elements of magical realism. Plummer will play Kollias, a shifty desperado who enjoys playing fast and loose with people’s comfort levels. Gomez-Rejon will direct the pilot and serve as executive producer alongside Nicholas Schutt, Josh Pate and Anonymous Content’s David Kanter, Matt DeRoss and Steve Golin. Plummer is repped by Greene & Associates Talent Agency, Red Management and Ziffren Brittenham.
