The DGA has promoted Nhu-Y Phan to assistant executive director of local stations, where she will be involved in the negotiation, administration and enforcement of the guild’s contracts with local TV stations nationwide.
Phan joined the Directors Guild in 2014 as a business rep, representing members working on news, sports and variety programs. Before that she worked as an associate at the law firm of Robein, Urann, Spencer, Picard & Cangemi, representing private and public sector unions in legal matters and enforcing their collective bargaining agreements.
“We’ve recently strengthened our services to address the unique needs of our members who work at local stations, and Nhu-Y has been a big part of that,” said DGA national executive director Jay Roth. “Her extensive experience in labor relations and in the field will be a tremendous benefit to our members who work in news and sports.”
