Longtime Freeform/ABC Family development exec Brooke Bowman has joined Fox as SVP Drama Programming & Development. She’ll be responsible for supervising the development and production of new and returning series for the network, replacing James Oh, who opted to take Fox’s voluntary buyout offer and was recently named SVP at Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Bowman will be based in Los Angeles and report to Terence Carter, EVP, Drama Development & Programming.
Bowman rose through the ranks at Freeform, joining then-ABC Family in 2004 as Executive Director, Development. She was promoted to VP Development and Programming the following year and most recently served as SVP Development and Programming, overseeing series such as comedy Baby Daddy, drama Shadowhunters, Peabody-winning Switched at Birth, along with The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Greek, Bunheads, Young & Hungry, Make It or Break It and Kyle XY. She also brought in and developed Freeform’s upcoming drama Beyond from Tim Kring.
