Turner’s Adult Swim comedy brand has struck a new syndication agreement with Australia’s free-to-air Nine Network that will see a weekly, one-hour block of Adult Swim programming aired on Nine’s 9GO! channel beginning Sunday, July 10. The block, a local format version of Adult Swim’s FishCentre, will feature popular Adult Swim programs from over the last decade, including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies and The Venture Bros.
The deal will also see the free-to-air debut in Australia of Rick and Morty, the hit animated series created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will begin airing during FishCentre later in 2016.
“Adult Swim has a great new home in Australia. This partnership announcement with Nine will no doubt excite comedy-craving late teens and young adults across the country,” said Robi Stanton, Turner Australia’s General Manager. “Adult Swim produces some of the wackiest, craziest and cheekiest shows out there, and there’ll be only one destination on Sunday late nights – and that’s 9GO!.”
The programming will also be available for live streaming via 9GO!’s 9Now app.
