Ronnie Claire Edwards, who played shopkeeper Ike Godsey’s wife on the long-running TV series The Waltons, has died. She was 83. The veteran actress’s Facebook page provided the news this morning. “Our beautiful and extraordinary friend has peacefully made her final curtain call,” the post read. “Thank you all for your wonderful caring and support.”
Edwards, an Oklahoma City native who was living in Dallas, appeared in 107 episodes of CBS’ The Waltons from 1975 to the end of its run in 1981, playing Corabeth Walton Godsey. The period family drama centered on a Virginia mountain clan living through the Depression and World War II and ran nine seasons. She also appeared in several Waltons made-for-TV movies.

Her film credits include 1986’s Nobody’s Fool, 1988’s The Dead Pool and 1994’s 8 Seconds. According to IMDb, her last credit was the 2007 HBO series 12 Miles Of Bad Road which only shot six episodes due to the writers’ strike in 2007-2008. She later became a published author and coat designer.
